Creative Minds Collaborative

Project Overview

Creative Minds Collaborative (CMC), founded in 2016 by Nao Kusuzaki, a former Soloist with Houston Ballet, is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering cultural understanding through the transformative power of dance arts. With roots in both the U.S. and Japan, Nao’s vision is deeply anchored in strengthening the friendship and mutual appreciation between these two nations. CMC brings this vision to life by designing collaborative and educational performing arts projects that bridge communities, cultures, and generations.

Our work at CMC celebrates the intersection of education, culture, and artistry. Each season is thoughtfully curated around a central theme—be it folktales, traditional music, or visual arts—that inspires a cornerstone dance production. Surrounding this central work, CMC produces site-specific performances and community events that encourage meaningful engagement. By connecting communities from Houston to Japan, CMC creates experiences that inspire dialogue and foster connection across borders.

The new CMC website captures the organization’s vibrant spirit and mission. With an inviting design, intuitive navigation, and visually striking elements, the website highlights the collaborative nature of CMC’s work. It features clear sections for upcoming events, educational workshops, artistic projects, and past performances, ensuring that artists, educators, and audiences can seamlessly explore the world of CMC. Testimonials, impactful stories, and stunning imagery further reflect the transformative role CMC plays in uniting communities and celebrating cultural diversity.

This online platform serves as a bridge—just like CMC’s programming—connecting visitors to the heart of our mission, inspiring engagement, and championing the power of the performing arts.
